Jimmy and the kids moved to Oklahoma in February and Kristen will be joining them after the school year.

Picnic at the
Caddoan Mounds

Mary LaBlanc has invited CCS Members
to visit the Caddoan Mounds. We will be driving in a caravan to Lufkin Texas to visit the mounds and have a
picnic nearby.
Plans are still in the works. One of the plans is to attend the Stomp Dance the night before and camp at the stomp grounds. We then would caravan to the mounds from the stomp grounds the next morning.
We would be able to meet people in New Caney the morning of the drive.

This is one of the ways we can learn about the original people of this area.

Mary is a member of the Atatkapa Tribe of Texas. They are currently working on being state recognized.
